Bac Giang deploys electronic medical records, connects and exchanges data among hospitals
BAC GIANG - The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province has just issued a Plan to deploy electronic medical records, connect and exchange data among hospitals in the province with Bach Mai Hospital in 2025.
The Plan aims to accelerate the implementation of electronic medical records of health sector units, focusing on improving the quality of health care, optimizing the management and operation process of the health system toward building a modern digital health system as a basis for connecting and exchanging data among the Provincial General Hospital and medical examination and treatment facilities in the province with Bach Mai Hospital and Central-level Hospitals to create a breakthrough in digital transformation in the health sector in Bac Giang province.

The Plan includes 3 main contents of connecting data with Bach Mai Hospital; reviewing security conditions; applying electronic medical records.
Basing on the current status of information technology infrastructure conditions, criteria for hospital information systems, image storage and transmission, laboratory information systems, information security and safety, the province deploys data interconnection with Bach Mai Hospital, shares and interconnects data to exploit electronic medical records among hospitals, medical examination and treatment facilities in the province with Bach Mai Hospital when patients transfer medical examination and treatment facilities.
The province will review and inspect information technology infrastructure, security systems and network security conditions of the health sector.
Also, the province will organize surveys and assessments of the current status of the unit's hardware, software, network (transmission) and security infrastructure; analyze to select options; develop detailed implementation plans at the unit to ensure suitability with the conditions, scale, and medical examination and treatment model of each unit.
The province will review and build a list, upgrade and invest in purchasing information technology infrastructure to ensure compliance with the criteria for infrastructure for applying information technology in medical examination and treatment according to regulations among others.
The total estimated cost of implementation is 90.5 billion VND (3.8 million USD).
