Bac Giang DOFA works with Japanese Embassy to Vietnam
GGP has been carried out since 1989 to meet diversified demands of the developed countries. Japanese diplomatic agencies in the host countries act as centres to implement the small-scale projects (below 10 million Japanese yen, equivalent to about 95,000 USD) for local governments, educational and medical institutions and non-governmental organizations in developing countries.

Since 1992, Japanese Embassy in Vietnam has implemented more than 200 projects with total donated fund of some 13 million USD to 37 provinces and cities in the North and Middle of Vietnam (from Gia Lai and Binh Dinh to the North).
According to Japanese Embassy, the Embassy has conducted disbursement to 12 aid items to Bac Giang province since 1995. The aid items have been used to refurbish and build facilities for educational, healthcare, traffic and environmental sectors such as the projects “building classrooms in Tien Son primary school, Viet Yen district” and “constructing Ben Mong Bridge in Luc Son commune, Luc Nam district”. These are humanitarian and practical activities for the province.
At the meeting, Haga Akihiko, second secretary of the Embassy of Japan to Vietnam thanked for warm welcome by the Department of Foreign Affairs of Bac Giang province. In coming time, the Japanese Embassy would continue implementing the assistance projects with connection and support of t of Foreign Affairs Department to improve efficiency of the projects.
DOFA’ Director Nguyen Quang Tuan stressed, Bac Giang DOFA is willing to accompany and collaborate with the Japanese Embassy to implement effective aid items to support and encourage needy people contributing to the local development while helping the Embassy to fulfil their set targets.
