Bac Giang stays ready for offering paid quarantine services

Updated: 08:54, 10/09/2020
(BGO) - Following the direction of the Prime Minister, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Bac Giang province has prepared conditions for offering paid concentrated quarantine services to foreigners entering the locality in the new normal state.

As the Covid-19 continues to persist, along with giving priority to pandemic prevention, the province focuses on promoting socio-economic development, boosting production and business, and creating conditions for job generation while trying to keep stable income for workers.

Muong Thanh Hotel is used as a concentrated quarantine area.

At this time, Bac Giang sees many foreign experts and technical workers entering to work in local industrial zones and clusters.

To control the epidemic well, Bac Giang has reserved four hotels and one dormitory for quarantining foreigners before they begin to work. These establishments effectively cooperated with authorities in the fight against the pandemic.

Ravatel Inn Hotel in Bac Giang city has 85 people under quarantine. Since the beginning of the outbreak, there have been 1,461 people quarantined in the hotel, whose rooms are often filled. The hotel always gives priority to pandemic prevention and safety, and strictly follows regulations on management of quarantined people.

Determining this will be a paid quarantine site in the near future, the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control will arrange two teams, including police, medical staff and receptionists, serving for 14 consecutive days without going home to avoid infection to their relatives and the community.

To prevent virus transmission thoroughly, the management board of the quarantine site pays attention to wastewater and waste treatment in accordance with the guidance of the Department of Health on prevention and control of infectious diseases.

At Muong Thanh Hotel, on September 8, there were 102 cases under medical quarantine, including 86 from China and 16 from the Republic of Korea. Every day, medical staff who are doctors and nurses with expertise in respiration conduct temperature checks and closely monitor the health status of each person.

Cases showing fever, cough and difficult breathing will immediately be monitored separately, tested and treated promptly. Each person will have samples taken for testing twice: before entering the quarantine facility and when the quarantine period is about to end.

Staff on duty here are provided with information on preventive measures and experience learned from realities in some localities in the country, ensuring that quarantined people can return to the community only when the quarantine period ends with negative test results.

According to the provincial Steering Committee of Covid-19 Prevention and Control, in order to effectively respond to the pandemic in the new normal state, Bac Giang currently has 15 concentrated quarantine facilities. To offer paid quarantine services, each of them has prepared a list of services with corresponding fee levels for quarantined people to choose in line with epidemic prevention regulations.

Since the beginning of the outbreak, the quarantine sites have received more than 6,600 people with epidemiological factors. By September 8, the province had 204 people under quarantine in four establishments. Most of them were foreign experts and workers from China and the Republic of Korea who came to work for local enterprises.

Measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic are taken at Ravatel Inn Hotel.

In order to realize the dual goal of both effectively preventing the pandemic and ensuring economic development, in the coming days, the Government will consider reopening a number of international air routes. In that context, the collection of quarantine fees will not only ease the burden on the budget but can also offset part of income and keep stable jobs for workers in the hospitality sector.

Tu Quoc Hieu, Director of the provincial Department of Health and deputy head of the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Control and Prevention, said that the province stays ready for offering paid concentrated quarantine services in the direction of proactively fighting the pandemic, preventing infections in quarantine areas, and ensuring safety amid the disease in the new normal state. At this time, localities are waiting for the guidance of the central government on quarantine fee levels applied to those entering the country.
