In 2022, the province's digital transformation index (DTI) ranked 9 out of 63 provinces and cities. For 3 consecutive years, Bac Giang has led the country in the administrative modernization component index in the provincial administrative reform index. Vietnam's readiness index for applying and developing Information and Communication Technologies (ICT Index) ranked 5th in the country. This is the clearest evidence showing the combined strength of Bac Giang province in applying information technology to promote digital transformation.

The theme for 2023 is "Exploiting digital data to create value", aiming to improve the quality of "user-centered" public service delivery, the efficiency of management, direction and administration of leaders at all levels "basing on digital data".

It targets to improve the work performance of civil servants, public employees and employees of state agencies "basing on digital platforms and digital data"; thereby contributing to promoting socio-economic development, increasing labor productivity, encouraging innovation and improving the province's competitiveness.

The provincial leader emphasized that to effectively implement digital transformation, it essentially requires a methodical strategy, focused implementation to create changes in the way of social management, operation and governance.

He sent the provincial message of digital transformation to state administrative management agencies at all levels, businesses and people. That is to accelerate the pace of digitalization, create stronger changes in the digitalization of administrative processes and procedures; build and develop a shared database across industries; thoroughly exploit the infinite benefits and values of digital transformation in state management.

The province also focuses investment resources on building digital platform systems and modern digital data warehouses to serve sharing, connecting, exploiting and analyzing data; particularly improving the efficiency of providing online public services, open data, electronic identification and accelerating the implementation of providing free digital signatures to the people toward the practical benefits of the people and businesses.

Besides, the province continues investing to expand and upgrade modern digital infrastructure; further strengthen measures to ensure cybersecurity safety. This is a key factor and a solid foundation for deeper digital transformation.

Bac Giang strives to boost up the speed and scope of digital technology application in all fields of education, health, agriculture, finance, banking... to bring modern life to the people while strengthening to train and foster specialized information technology staff, ensure cybersecurity and safety as well as community digital technology teams at all levels.

On this occasion, the PPC Chairman awarded Certificates of Merit to 39 collectives with outstanding achievements in digital transformation in the province in 2023.
