Bac Giang effectively taps typical tourism products
Resolution 112, issued on June 15, 2021, sets out a number of specific goals by 2025, such as forming and exploiting the Hanoi-Bac Giang city-Luc Ngan-Son Dong-Bai Chay tourism space; and the Tay Yen Tu tourism space associated with "The path of spreading the Buddhist dharma of the founders of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect”. On the basis of the Resolution, on June 28, 2021, the provincial People's Committee developed a plan for implementation.

In Son Dong district, the Standing Board of the district Party Committee issued a Resolution on ecotourism development, experience tourism and community-based tourism in the district for the 2021-2025 period. Along with the community-based tourism site in Na O village, An Lac commune, the district People's Committee has zoned off more than 3,000 hectares for an ecological forest park, resort, entertainment and community tourism project in Tay Yen Tu township.
The Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourist area project in the district has completed its first phase and is under the second one. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, operation director at Tay Yen Tu Service Joint Stock Company, said that in 2023, the company will start construction of technical infrastructure, an outdoor camping area, 3-star hotels, food and shopping streets. In 2024-2025, the project will invest in building a Buddhist wonders park, 4-5 star resorts; conference halls; and an arts and culture center.
Adhering to Resolution 112, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Luc Ngan district developed resolutions, plans and schemes, identifying tourism as a key task. Promoting local advantages, the district attaches importance to developing community-based tourism associated with agricultural production and fruit farming. The district now has 29 tourism cooperatives and two tourist sites recognized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In 2022, Luc Ngan district welcomed more than 250,000 visitors.
Along with Son Dong and Luc Ngan districts, the steering committees for tourism development of other districts and Bac Giang city have actively advised the Party committees and authorities at the same levels to focus on attracting investment, and speeding up site clearance for projects; allocate capital and create favorable conditions for organizations and individuals to invest in tourism development. Mobilizing social resources to invest in infrastructure construction and tourism development has obtained positive results.
After nearly two years of implementing the Resolution, tourist areas and attractions have gradually formed many new products, and seen an increase in the number of tourists. Among those are Tay Tay Yen spiritual and ecological tourist area in Son Dong; Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Truc Lam Phuong Hoang Zen Monastery, and Kem Pagoda in Yen Dung; Suoi Mo eco-tourism area in Luc Nam; Bo Da Pagoda in Viet Yen; the historical relic site featuring Uncle Ho’s six teachings for the people's police force in Tan Yen; Xuong Giang Temple in Bac Giang city; and Ven village in Yen The.
In 2022, dozens of travel companies brought tourists to Bac Giang. Since the beginning of the year, the local tourist areas and attractions have hosted more than 1 million visitors.
Along with building tourism products, localities in the province have paid attention to developing transport infrastructure. Truong Quang Hai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and deputy head of the Standing Board of the provincial Steering Committee for Tourism Development, said that the department will give advice to authorities to ensure the progress and quality of the implementation of the Resolution of the provincial People's Council stipulating policies to support development community-based tourism in the province in 2023-2030; the project "Restoring the walking path of the founders of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect"; and the strategy for tourism development strategy for 2022-2030, with a vision to 2050.
At the same time, the agency will select reputable national and international consultants to develop planning schemes for key tourist areas and attractions, striving to attract 7.5 million visitors and create jobs for 10,000 workers by 2030.
