Bac Giang ensures power source for production

BAC GIANG – The investor always pays special attention to infrastructure and power sources. Therefore, Bac Giang province has exerted efforts to implement solutions to meet the needs of production and business, increase the attractiveness to lure investment to the area.

As one of the enterprises with large foreign direct investment (FDI) in Bac Giang, leader of JA Solar Vietnam Company Limited in Quang Chau Industrial Park suggested the province to have solutions to ensure the power stability and increase the power supply for production expansion in a number of contacts and dialogues.

To meet the needs of companies, the province assigned authorities to research and establish an electricity project to supply to Vietnam Korea Industrial Park. Thanks to the additional power source, the company expanded a factory (JA Solar NE Vietnam Co., Ltd.) in this industrial park which is specialized in producing photovoltaic cell panels.

Together with JA Solar Vietnam Co., Ltd., many businesses expanded production scale and poured more investments to the province.

According to statistics, for the first 2 months of the year, the whole province has attracted total investment of 468.4 million USD from many newly established and adjusted projects.

In 2023, Bac Giang attracted more than 3 billion USD of foreign investment capital, ranking 4th in the country.

With the increasing number of enterprises and large production scale, Vietnam Electricity Group (VEG) forecasts that the electricity growth rate of Bac Giang province will be among the largest in the North.

Accordingly, the VRG prioritizes to invest in a series of power projects in Bac Giang. The province also coordinates and proposes in planning key power projects; actively clearing land for handover and speeding up the progress of power projects.

The provincial leaders regularly review and direct departments, branches and localities to grasp and closely follow the situation to find solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles.

In the regular meeting last February, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong emphasized that one of the solutions Bac Giang must pay attention to creating a growth breakthrough is to invest in electricity infrastructure and ensure the power supply.

Many power projects, especially those invested in industrial development, are facing difficulties in investment procedures and construction sites. He assigned the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in charge of the field to work and inspect the specific tasks then solve each task, quickly complete and soon put the projects into operation to serve local socio-economic development.
