Bac Giang ensures power supply to Van Trung industrial park

(BGO) – Recently, the power using demand has sharply increased in Van Trung industrial park (IP), Viet Yen district (Bac Giang province) due to numerous enterprises invested huge scale to the area. 

The current 110kV Van Trung substation with capacity of 2x63MVA - 110/22kV is in charge of supplying the electric to the whole load of Van Trung IP via 12 sections of 22kV line. The load factor hits 85.7 percent and nearly exceeds the range of overload.

Meanwhile, many power users on demand of huge capacity at the IP will operate in the upcoming time. Thus, the 110kV Van Trung substation cannot meet the power demand in 2020 and the next years.

To handle the issue, the Norther Power Corporation agreed to mobilize T5 transformer from 110kV Yen Phong substation in Bac Ninh to install at the 110kV Van Trung substation in Bac Giang province.

Total investment reaches nearly 40 billion VND (1.7 million USD). The transformer will operate in parallel with the current ones at 110kV Van Trung substation.

As schedule, it will start operation in August 2020 that suits to the power development plan in the province for the period 2016 – 2025, with the vision to 2035.
