Bac Giang exerts efforts to have clean premises for key projects

Updated: 21:20, 15/01/2024
BAC GIANG - Normally, in the run up to Tet (Lunar New Year), site clearance is more favorable than in the middle of the year. Therefore, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province has directed districts, Bac Giang city, relevant departments and agencies to focus on implementing the work during the two peak months of December 2023 and January 2024 to hand over clean grounds for contractors of major projects.

Dozens of hectares of land cleared

Recently, the provincial People's Committee focused on directing Hiep Hoa and Yen Dung districts to concentrate on site clearance for two projects on infrastructure construction of the expanded Hoa Phu Industrial Park - Phase 1 and the Yen Lu Industrial Park. The localities have focused on removing difficulties for site clearance and speeding up compensation for dozens of hectares of land for the projects.

Site clearance is underway for the Yen Lu Industrial Park infrastructure construction investment project.

The Yen Lu Industrial Park infrastructure construction project had its investment plan approved by the Prime Minister in late 2021. The industrial park spans 377 hectares in Yen Lu commune, with Capella Land JSC as infrastructure developer.

In December 2023 and the first half of this month, Yen Dung district cleared an additional 40 hectares of land in Yen Tap, Thach Xa and Thinh Long communes for the project. The district has so far cleared 289 out of 377 hectares of land in this industrial park and compensated more than 648 billion VND (26.5 million USD) for households.

Meanwhile, the project on infrastructure construction of the expanded Hoa Phu Industrial Park - Phase 1 coves 85 hectares in Mai Dinh and Huong Lam communes in Hiep Hoa district. Of which, 63 hectares have been cleared. In particular, since December 2023, the locality has persuaded people to clear nearly 6 hectares at a total cost of nearly 160 billion VND (6.54 million USD).

In addition, the localities in the province are focusing on clearing sites for many key transportation projects.

Removing obstacles

The province determines that site clearance work carried out on schedule will enable the contractors to implement projects smoothly, thus soon putting them into operation, contributing to local socio-economic development.

Therefore, at many regular meetings of the provincial People's Committee in 2023, Chairman Le Anh Duong requested the chairpersons of the People's Committees of districts and Bac Giang city, directors of a number of related departments and agencies to focus heavily on site clearance, especially during the two peak months.

Site clearance must be considered a key task that needs to be carried out continuously, he said, asking units and localities to take action to completely remove obstacles to ensure the progress of site clearance for key projects in line with the set plans and roadmaps.

Observing the directions of the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, during the peak period, localities mobilized maximum forces from districts to communes, villages and residential areas to persuade residents to hand over land. Some hired consulting units to work even on weekends and holidays to speed up the process of completing compensation documents.

In Yen Dung district, to speed up the land clearance progress for the Yen Lu Industrial Park project, in addition to persuading residents, the district assigned four consulting unit to complete the land inventory and the making of compensation plans.

With the goal of promoting investment attraction, in the coming time, the province requires Hiep Hoa and Yen Dung districts to drastically complete land clearance for the two IP projects in the first quarter of 2024 to hand over clean land funds for the investors. For other key projects, localities in the province are urgently implementing land clearance solutions under the set plans.
