Bac Giang exerts highest effort to care for labour
An epicenter
Bac Giang was the first localities in Vietnam that was directly attacked by Covid-19 pandemic to key area of local economy: the industrial parks and clusters, causing fast infection among workers at production lines.

Following direction from the Government, collaboration and instruction from Ministry of Health, the provincial leaders highly focused on leading and guiding people by drastic spirit and high determination to prevent and control the pandemic as well as protect the health of all people.
The province decided to suspend operation at four industrial parks of Van Trung, Quang Chau, Dinh Tram and Song Khe – Noi Hoang. The whole political system exerted every effort at highest consensus to mobilize man power and material to care for over 60,000 labours at the areas under quarantine and lockdown condition.
Playing the role of a representative and protector for labour, the provincial Labour Confederation urgently directed the trade union at all levels to grasp each locality and specific situation to timely support members and labours.
From the trade union fund and various donation, the trade union at all levels mobilized over 28.8 billion VND in cash and kind to present medical supplies and necessities to treatment facilities, quarantine sites, localities under lockdown and isolation as well as workers.
High determination to recover the production
Executing the Government’s direction, the provincial leader grasped thoroughly to realize dual goals. All levels, sectors and localities drastically and effectively implemented the motto “Preventing disease for production and production must be safe”.
The provincial People’s Committee and Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control in Bac Giang province instructed businesses to launch disease preventive measures, re-establish production models in new condition.
Only two weeks after suspension day (May 18, 2021), the province allowed 35 companies to reopen, create “green zone” to facilitate workers at safe areas to come back work.
By the end of July 2021 when most of companies in the industrial parks resumed the operation, the local authority directed competent agencies and localities to support them in recruiting labours and effectively maintaining disease preventive measures.
Thanks to drastic and synchronous direction of party and authority at all levels as well as high consensus of people and political system, Bac Giang’s production recovery went beyond expectation.
The provincial Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) rank 10 nationwide in 2021 with 7.82 percent year on year increase. In the first six months of 2022, the province witnessed highest growth rate of GRDP up to 24 percent, helping Bac Giang list in top position in the country.
Together with strong bound back of businesses, more than 300,000 labours in the province are maintaining stable jobs with good average income.
No one is left behind
During the working trip to Bac Giang in middle of August, 2021, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc bestowed Third Class Labour Medal to the Party, authority and people in the province as the acknowledgement for high determination and great efforts of the whole political system in realizing the dual target.

Implementing Government’s Resolution No.68/NQ-CP on July 1, 2021 about policies to support employers and employees affected by Covid-19 pandemic, the provincial People’s Committee issued implementation plan in the province and ordered departments, sectors, agencies to support and remove difficulties.
As the result, the province mobilized 858 billion VND to support various cases which was considered the highest supporting expense nationwide.
Meanwhile, Bac Giang provided over 109 billion VND as the housing rental support in line with Prime Minister’s Decision No.08 on March 28, 2022 to all labours with approved documents.
From the epicenter to strong bound back in production recovery and breakthrough development, the party and authority in Bac Giang always follow thorough opinion in leading, directing and implementing targets of disease prevention and control, production recovery and caring for the life of people, especially labours in the companies.
Post pandemic recovery and positive growth rate are preconditions and driving forces for the province to achieve other breakthroughs, conquer next goals and complete key task to bring Bac Giang become industrial province by 2025.
