Bac Giang mobilizes resources to improve vocational training quality for rural workers

(BGO)- The working delegation from the Central agencies headed by Le Tan Dung, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs on July 7 had a working session with Bac Giang provincial Standing Party Committee on 10-year implementation of the Directive No 19-CT/TW (Directive 19) dated November 5, 2012 of the Secretariat of the Central Party Committee (11th tenure) on “Strengthening leadership of the Party in vocational training for rural workers”.

After 10 years implementing Directive 19, the cognition of the party committee, local government at all levels, labourers and students has been positively changed. Various types of vocational training especially for rural workers have met demand of the labour market and learners.

Speaking at the meeting, permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thu Hong stressed, the party committee and government at all levels inBac Giang province always define vocational training for rural workers one of the key tasks which needs to be paid due attention.

As evaluating some limitations and shortcomings in implementation of Directive 19, permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council Le Thi Thu Hong highlighted some solutions of the province in coming time.

Of which, the province will survey and predict needs for vocational training of rural workers annually matching real situation while paying attention to building integrated and modern facilities for vocational training and gradually approaching to standards of high-quality vocational training.

Besides, it is necessary to work out specific policies to cooperate with enterprises in training with a focus on short-term vocational training and creating jobs for female middle-aged workers and labourers in land acquisition areas.

Concluding the meeting, Le Tan Dung highly spoke on direction and positive results in implementation of Directive 19 in the province. In order to improve effectiveness of vocational training for rural workers, he urged the province to pay more attention to providing job consultancy and orientation for rural workers especially young people, which will help labourers to choose suitable jobs with stable employment and income after training. Besides, the province should enclose vocational training with locating appropriate job positions based on developing training linkage models with businesses.

Based on evaluation of the situation and quality of the teachers and trainers, Bac Giang province should study to build and issue special policies to encourage and hold the rural labour force while ensuring training quality. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to mobilizing resources from the society and investment to gradually improve training facilities and equipment.
