Bac Giang Museum reenacts Moc Cau ritual and folk games
At the event, the students at Bac Giang Ethnic Minority Boarding High School and visitors had chance to eye the folk artisans in Noi Hac village, Viet Lap commune to reenact the ritual and experience the traditional game of Moc cau.

Two teams joined the game, each had 5 – 7 members in traditional festive costumes. The 30 kg ball was made of jackfruit wood. The stick was made of bamboo with a curved end which looked like a sickle with 2 meter rod.
The play course had three holes including one center and two small holes for each team. The match was monitored by an arbitrator. The winner was the team who took the ball to their side.

The humanity rule of the game helps bring joy to the players and the hope for the health, luckiness and peace to everyone. It was also an unique religious activity in the ceremony wishing for a bumper crop of the farmers to show their respect to the nature.
The game was performed at Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and several provinces and cities across the nation that attracted numerous audiences.

Among the joyfull cultural space, the event featured calligraphy performance, introduction of famous specialties in localities such as Hoang Van Chung and Gio cake (Hiep Hoa district), bamboo, honey and morinda officinalis (Son Dong district); Chu rice noodle, orange, pomelo and jujube (Luc Ngan district), Ven village tea (Yen The district).
On this occasion, the provincial Museum held exhibition to introduce more than 70 artifacts and sets of artifact collected in 2019 to the visitors.

Via the activities, the Museum expected to honor the cultural values and help increase the public awareness about the heritage value, hence respecting and preserving them.
