Bac Giang pays attention to cooperation in high-quality human resource training

(BGO)- Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province Mai Son on October 24 hosted a meeting to evaluate implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the provincial People’s Committee and Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) for cooperation in scientific research, international integration and official training in 2016-2020 period.

In implementing this MOU, BAFU has implemented 24 provincial and grassroots-level scientific and technical tasks with total fund of nearly 15 billion VND (602,772 USD). The university has trained thousands of masters, technicians and bachelors of the province. Besides, the university cooperated with Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences (China) to build models and pilot some species of plant including black grape which was granted protection certificate and recognition of technical progress.

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Quang Ha, BAFU rector expected that the province would prioritize to choose the university for training and retraining the province’s public officials.

Representative of the Department of Science and Technology requested the provincial People’s Committee to allocate more resources to support the university in implementing the assigned tasks while helping them to select and suggest new tasks in new sectors and high technologies.

Concluding the meeting, the provincial permanent Vice Chairman Mai Son stressed, the province gives priority for scientific research with special attention to researching and implementing tasks to solve obstacles facing the sectors and localities. He urged the departments and agencies to make use of advantages of the local training institute to build cooperation plans.

In order to continue implementing the MOU aiming to build BAFU into a human resource training center of the province, he ordered the departments and agencies to collaborate with the university to build scheme for the university to participate in training human resources and doing scientific researches.

Regarding the recommendations at the meeting, he assigned the Department of Education and Training as the contact agency to cooperate with BAFU to organize career consultancy in high schools and vocational training centers in the province and consider establishing BAFU’s office at the provincial Center for Continuing Education-Foreign Language, Informatics. The related agencies need to pay attention to connecting and supporting the university to work with enterprises to select and recommend accurate tasks.
