Bac Giang proposes to recognize 49 OCOP products at provincial level in 2020

(BGO) – The Judge of One Commune One Product (OCOP) evaluation and classification in Bac Giang province on December 10 held a meeting to evaluate and classify the OCOP products in 2020. 

This year, the Judge received 51 participating entries, including 45 food, 4 beverage, 2 functional food products.

Basing on the set regulation and criteria, the Judge proposed the province to recognize 49 OCOP products at provincial level in 2020, 9 of which will be 4 star and 40 will be recognized 3 star title.

The 4 star products include lyche sweet juice of Vifoco Import Export Joint Stock Company (Bac Giang city); Hien Phuoc five colour rice noodle, Hien Phuoc brown rice noodle, Thu Duong Chu rice noodle of Hien Phuoc Chu Rice Noodle Production, Trading and Consumption Cooperative; canned lychee, sweet corn, Fully orange juice of Toan Cau Food Import Export Joint Stock Company (Luc Ngan district); yellow flower tea of Luu Chanh Herbal Plant Production Cooperative (Luc Nam district); Tay Yen Tu Giap tuu wine (Tan Yen district).

The three star products are from the districts of Hiep Hoa, Lang Giang, Tan Yen, Viet Yen and Bac Giang city.

They are signature and typical products in each locality with announced profile, grass roots standard, testing certificate for quality criteria, plan of quality supervision, production certificate and food hygiene and safety.

Building OCOP center in Luc Nam district
(BGO) – The People’s Committee in Luc Nam district (Bac Giang province) has coordinated with Bac Giang High Bio-Technology Joint Stock Company (BG High Bio-Tech) to start revamping the old office of the district State Treasury in Doi Ngo street, Doi Ngo town to build the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Introduction and Selling Center of the district.
550 OCOP products introduced in capital city
A fair introducing products meeting standards of the “One Commune – One Product” (OCOP) programme kicked off in Hanoi’s Tay Ho District late last week, displaying 550 OCOP products and more than 2,000 other goods and specialties of 27 provinces and cities nationwide across 150 stalls.

The implementation of the “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) programme has brought about significant results in the past 1.5 years, contributing to enhancing the value of local brands and specialties.
More OCOP products to be certified
Vietnam hopes to have 3,843 products qualified for standards of One Commune-One Product (OCOP) programmes by this year, said deputy minister of agriculture and rural development Tran Thanh Nam at a conference in Hanoi on January 9.
