Ninh Binh OCOP products introduced to Hanoi consumers

Agricultural specialties and products under the “One Commune – One Product” (OCOP) programme from the northern province of Ninh Binh are being showcased at the Vietnam Agriculture Promotion and Exhibition Centre in Hanoi.

The Trade Promotion Centre for Agriculture under the Ministry for Agriculture and Rural Development in partnership with the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development organized the trade fair to promote local agricultural products and Ninh Binh’s OCOP products in Hanoi on October 1.

More than 100 pavilions from over 20 provinces and cities across the country are introducing various types of agricultural products and specialties including Tuyen Quang bamboo shoots, Bac Kan vermicelli, Tu Le sticky rice, Ngoc Linh fresh ginseng, Phu Yen dried beef, BinhPhuoc cashew nuts, Cai Rong fish sauce, Moc Chau vegetables, and others.

The highlight of the fair is the nearly 20 pavilions displaying specialties and farm produce from Ninh Binh province such as Camellia chrysantha (golden tea), turmeric starch, goat meat, Ninh Binh burned rice, Bo Bat pottery, amongst others.

Director of the Trade Promotion Centre for Agriculture Dao Van Ho said that the trade fair aims to connect the supply and demand of agricultural products while promoting local product brands to Hanoi consumers.

The event is also expected to foster agricultural production after tough times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The trade fair will run until October 5 at No.489 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Hanoi.

Building OCOP center in Luc Nam district
(BGO) – The People’s Committee in Luc Nam district (Bac Giang province) has coordinated with Bac Giang High Bio-Technology Joint Stock Company (BG High Bio-Tech) to start revamping the old office of the district State Treasury in Doi Ngo street, Doi Ngo town to build the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Introduction and Selling Center of the district.
550 OCOP products introduced in capital city
A fair introducing products meeting standards of the “One Commune – One Product” (OCOP) programme kicked off in Hanoi’s Tay Ho District late last week, displaying 550 OCOP products and more than 2,000 other goods and specialties of 27 provinces and cities nationwide across 150 stalls.

The implementation of the “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) programme has brought about significant results in the past 1.5 years, contributing to enhancing the value of local brands and specialties.
More OCOP products to be certified
Vietnam hopes to have 3,843 products qualified for standards of One Commune-One Product (OCOP) programmes by this year, said deputy minister of agriculture and rural development Tran Thanh Nam at a conference in Hanoi on January 9.
