Bac Giang reforms tax procedures, facilitates citizens and businesses

(BGO) - The Bac Giang provincial Tax Department has recently paid due attention to reforming administrative procedures towards professionalism, transparency and efficiency, thereby creating favorable conditions for citizens and businesses to fulfill their tax obligations.

Previously, in every tax payment period, the one-stop shop of the Tax Division in Lang Giang - Luc Nam area was always full of people waiting to complete all kinds of tax declarations. For recent years, the tax sector has accelerated the tax declaration program through the eTax service system so the above mentioned situation no longer exists.

Dang Thi Hung, Deputy Head of Tax Division of Lang Giang - Luc Nam area said: "Using this service, businesses can declare tax online at anytime and anywhere without wasting time to go to the tax office in person. This is a centralized one-stop system with many new features for electronic tax payment. Taxpayers only need to use one login account, which contains all the specific services of tax records management of the enterprise. In addition to help businesses pay taxes as regulations, it also supports the tax sector in good management”.

Currently, all enterprises in Lang Giang district use eTax service to fulfill financial obligations to the State.

According to Pham Van Hung, Deputy Director of Thong Nhat Service and Trading Joint Stock Company in Yen My commune (Lang Giang district), the company declares and pays taxes simultaneously on the eTax software system without having to go to each page as before, hence saving considerable time. As a result, the business fulfills their financial obligations on time because the eTax service connects online with the district's tax management system.

Not only at the Tax Division in Lang Giang - Luc Nam area, in order to increase transparency and modernize tax collection, up to now, 100 percent of enterprises in the province have applied electronic tax payment and tax refund services. This is a highlight in the recent implementation of administrative procedure reform of the tax sector. 

For the first 7 months of this year, the tax sector has collected 7,380 billion VND (over 316 million USD) for the state budget, reaching more than 55 percent of the yearly estimate.

Along with promoting the application of eTax services, over the past time, the Tax sector has also taken efforts to implement many measures in administrative reform and evaluated the effective implementation of the tax management system according to ISO standards in Vietnam all tax authorities from province to grassroots.

According to the Provincial Tax Department, currently the sector has exploited and used about 60 informatics applications in tax administration and professional management. Since early this year, the sector has received more than 121 thousand applications, of which 120.8 have been processed, the rest have not yet been due.

To take the enterprises as the center as the driving force in implementing tax administrative procedure reform, along with promoting the application of information technology, since the beginning of this year, the provincial Tax Department has directed relevant divisions to review all documents related to the inspection process, tax refund, tax declaration management, tax registration and tax payment to consider shortening and supporting enterprises.

Meanwhile, the hotline is opened to receive recommendations and reflections about the businesses’ difficulties and problems when implementing administrative procedures to promptly solve them. Tax law policies are promptly updated on the websites of the Tax Department to ease the access from taxpayers.

Sine 2022, the tax sector has cut many tax administrative procedures at the request of the Ministry of Finance, thereby saving time and costs for people and businesses. In particular, the direct support activities are launched via phone and document to answer enterprises’ questions about tax policy within 7 working days at the latest.
