Bac Giang rewards coaches and athletes gaining outstanding achievements at SEA Games 32
The 32nd SEA Games took place from 5 to 17 May in Cambodia. 6 athletes of the Sports Training and Competition Center of Bac Giang province were selected to participate in SEA Games 32

When SEA Games 32 closed, Vietnam secured the top spot in the medal tally. This achievement was also contributed by Bac Giang athletes. Particularly, star runner Nguyen Thi Oanh bagged 4 gold medals, the first Vietnamese track and field athlete won 4 individual gold medals at a SEA Games event. Besides, athlete Pham Tien San bagged 1 gold medal at duathlon event (combining 5km running, 20km cycling and 2.5km running). Chess master Nguyen Quang Trung won 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal at ouk chaktrang chess.
At the event, permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son presented certificate of merit by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee to the 3 athletes winning medals and ouk chaktrang coach Giap Xuan Dinh, Vice Director of the provincial Sports Training and Competition Center who gained excellent achievements at SEA Games 32. The rewards for the athletes and coach worth total 150.130 million VND (6,404 USD) according to the regulation.

In addition, the provincial Youth Union awarded certificate of merit to the 3 athletes. Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh was presented certificate of merit and reward by the provincial Women’s Union and her family was sponsored to build a new house worth 700 million USD (29,862 USD) by Fuji Bac Giang Development Joint Stock Company. Ha Do Joint Stock Company gifted 40 million VND (1,706 USD) to Nguyen Thi Oanh and 10 million VND (426 USD) to Pham Tien San and Pham Quang Trung.
