Bac Giang runner Nguyen Thi Oanh wins gold medal at SEA Games 32
Nguyen Thi Oanh used a good tactic to run after Lao athlete Lodkeo Inthakumman during the first half of the track. Hong Le also maintained her position in top 5. In the last 3 rounds, Lodkeo became tired. Nguyen Thi Oanh sped up at the end of the 8th round and Hong Le also ran up. Finally, Vietnamese female athletes won dual victory in women’s 5,000m event.

Nguyen Thi Oanh successfully defended her SEA Games gold medal while Hong Le won a silver medal.
Nguyen Thi Oanh is one of the athletes competing at the most individual contents among more than 40 contents of track and field event with 4 running categories including 5,000m, 1,500m and 10,000m and 3,000m steeplechase running. She set the goals to defend 3 gold medals at the 3 contents of her strength including 1,500m and 3,000m steeplechase and women’s 5,000m.
This Bac Giang born athlete has donated the Southeast Asian arena at these competition contents for 3 consecutive SEA Games (the 29th, 30th and 31st ones) with total 8 gold medals.
