Bac Giang strives to achieve higher economic growth in last six months
In the first six months of this year, the province gained positive and comprehensive socio-economy situation, helping level up the provincial position with economic growth of 10.94 percent (ranking second nationwide).

The total production scale hit over 82 trillion VND (3.5 billion USD), accounting for 45.2 percent of the yearly plan. The economic structure continued to shift strongly toward increased proportion of industry and comprehensive growth in agricultural production.
Service sectors recovered, import and export values maintained good growth. Total budget revenue reached over 7.9 trillion VND, making up 52.7 percent of the assigned year estimate.
Concluding the meeting, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong pressed on great efforts taken by the province to recover the difficulties and challenges so as to gain prominent result in socio-economic development. It was the premise for Bac Giang to achieve set target.
The provincial leader stated that 2023 is an important year to implement the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on 5-year socio-economic development in 2021-2025 period.
Amid more difficulties and global uncertainties forecast in the last six months of 2023, he urged the departments, sectors, districts and city to strictly follow the socio-economic criteria, persist on completing the economic growth targets.
During this period, the province strives to gain higher economic growth than the first six months. All units must develop economic growth scenarios with focal point to improve the business investment environment; remove difficulties for enterprises to boost production; attract more investment; quickly handle administrative procedures to put projects into operation soon and promote socio-economic development.
Regarding the public investment disbursement, PPC Chairman Duong asked relevant departments, sectors and investors to highly focus on removing difficulties, accelerating the progress.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment was ordered to consult the PPC on licensing the waste land transport for construction sites within July while enhancing the management efficiency over land, mining natural resource and environment protection.
The provincial and local Tax Departments must drastically implement solutions to increase budget revenue.
Also, he asked related sectors, districts and cities to pay attention to resolving voters' petitions; strengthen national defense and security; ensure social order among others.
