Bridges to create motivation for Bac Giang development
Despite extremely hot weather, these days, at the construction site of Ha Bac 2 road and bridge, connecting the branch route 2 of Hanoi’s Ring Road 4 with Yen Phong Industrial Park and National Highway 18 in Bac Ninh province, the working atmosphere has been very urgent.
Construction on Ha Bac 2 road and bridge is being accelerated. |
To ensure the scheduled progress, the contractors have mobilized nearly 100 workers working three shifts per day, and increased the number of workers when electricity from the grid is available. At the same time, they have hired generators to serve the construction in case of power cut.
The Ha Bac 2 road and bridge project begins in Dong Lo commune, Hiep Hoa district and ends in Dong Phong commune, Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh province. The bridge is 490m long and 16m wide while the concrete road has a length of 1.5km. Implemented in 2021-2024, the project has a total investment of more than 358 billion VND (15.2 million USD) sourced from central and local budgets.
Hoang The Hung, deputy director of the management board of transport and agricultural projects in the province – the project investor, said: "These days, the unit has focused on urging contractors to speed up the progress, striving to have the bridge’s parts linked in July this year, complete and put it into use in September".
Once operational, the bridge is expected to facilitate the connectivity between the industrial economic area of Bac Giang province and Bac Ninh province; open the way to connect Viet Yen and Hiep Hoa districts with neighboring Bac Ninh province’s Yen Phong district.
Similarly, a project to build a road and bridge connecting Hiep Hoa district with Pho Yen city of Thai Nguyen province (section from National Highway 37 to Hoa Son bridge) is being accelerated. The project has a total investment of more than 540 billion VND (22.95 million USD) sourced from the state budget.
The project has a total length of over 10.5km, including 10 km of road. The road, built in accordance with tier-3 plain road standards, starts in Luong Phong commune, Hiep Hoa district and ends in Pho Yen city, Thai Nguyen province. Hoa Son bridge crossing the Cau River will connect Hoa Son commune (Hiep Hoa) with Pho Yen city.
According to the provincial Department of Transport, in the 2021-2025 period with orientations to 2030, the province determines that the development of the transport infrastructure system is a key task that needs to be prioritized, creating breakthroughs to promote socio-economic development of each locality and the province as a whole. In recent years, along with building, upgrading and renovating roads, the province has spent considerable resources building a number of bridges.
Nhu Nguyet bridge's completion helps ease the traffic. |
The whole province currently has five large-scale bridges whose construction is being accelerated, with a total cost of more than 3.2 trillion VND (136 million USD) from the central and local budgets. Of these, two have been basically completed and are scheduled for trial run by the end of this month. They are A Lu bridge in Bac Giang city and Nhu Nguyet bridge on National Highway No. 1.
When completed, the works will contribute to expanding the transport network, increasing the connectivity among regions in the province and between Bac Giang and neighboring provinces such as Hai Duong, Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen, opening up new opportunities to attracting investment in the province, especially industrial clusters, thus promoting the local socio-economic development.
