Bac Giang strives to complete mechanism, policies to boost sustainable agricultural development
The conference was themed “empowering local strengths and advantages to boost sustainable agricultural and rural development”. At the dialogue, the participants spoke on many issues including financial difficulties in building OCOP products and consumption of farm products. They requested for resolutions by the province.

In his conclusion, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong stressed, the dialogue was very important for the provincial People’s Committee, departments, agencies and localities to grasp opinions, aspiration and recommendations of the farmers so that the provincial government and competent agencies can direct solving problems and obstacles to reach consensus on implementing the policies for socio-economic development.
Based on the opinions and recommendations of the participants and answers of related departments and agencies, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to continue collaborating with the provincial Farmers’ Association to guide and facilitate the farmers to approach and benefit the Central and provincial policies on supporting agricultural development and building new-style rural areas.
Besides, it is necessary to expand the production models under the value chains while improving both quantity and quality of OCOP products. The competent agencies were urged to support establishment and enhancing efficiency of agricultural cooperatives for production under the value chains and high technology application.
In addition, the PPC Chairman urged to speed up building the database of the key farm products, concentrated commodity agricultural production areas and planting area codes. The related agencies need to pay attention to inspection and timely upgrade the irrigation projects to ensure water supply and drainage for agricultural production.
He requested the competent agencies to join hands to handle the mentioned issues such as support in consumption of farm produce, providing training and scientific knowledge in advanced and modern agricultural production for farmers and obstacles in dealing with land-related administrative procedures.
Other departments, agencies and district-level people’s committees were urged to strictly grasp the opinions and recommendations of the farmers, review the regulations and policies of the Central and province for researching and proposing appropriate amendment so that the resolutions, mechanisms and policies can be actually realized.
PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong expected each cadre, member and farmer would ceaselessly study to improve their qualification and competence with an ongoing question that “how to improve the value of the farm products in line with environment protection”, thereby working out creative and effective methods.
