Bac Giang supports 3,000 teachers and cooks at schools affected in Covid-19 pandemic
The delegates handed over 340 million VND (over 14,400 USD) to the Division of Education and Training in Viet Yen district and 24 million VND (over 1,000 USD) to Nguyen Binh Khiem High School to transfer to the difficult teachers and staff.

There are 371 teachers and cooks in the kindergarten, primary and secondary schools in Viet Yen district living in difficulties due to the pandemic impact while Nguyen Binh Khiem High School has 24 contracting teachers.
According to DoIT Director Tran Tuan Nam, the statistic showed that Bac Giang province has more than 3,000 teachers working at non-public schools, private kindergarten groups and cooks at the public schools. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, these cases had no job and salary, causing many difficulties in life.
Thus, the DoIT coordinated with the provincial Education Trade Union called on the officers and public teachers who are paying salary from the budget in the whole sector to make donation to timely support these above mentioned cases to ease the difficulties from April 14- 17.

As the result, 2.6 billion VND (110,800 USD) was donated. The units with big donation included the Division of Education and Training in Viet Yen, Hiep Hoa districts and Bac Giang city.
Accordingly, 1,218 teachers at non-public schools, contracting teachers in the public schools and private kindergarten groups were provided 1.2 million VND per person; 256 teachers at the non-public schools under the DoIT were supported 1 million VND per person; 1,582 contracting cooks were supported 550,000 VND per person.
Apart from the supported amount to difficult teachers and staff in Viet Yen district, the remaining amount is transferred to the schools to timely hand over to the cases in April 22.

Besides the provincial support, many private educational facilities such as Smile Kids High Quality Kindergarten School, New World Tran Luan Kindergarten School (Bac Giang city), Doi Ngo High School (Luc Nam district), Nguyen Binh Khiem High School (Viet Yen district) and Hiep Hoa 6 High School also mobilized the expense to share the difficulties with the teachers and staff under various ways like supporting to pay for social insurance, presenting cash, rice, noodle and medical materials ...
In response of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee (FFC)’s calling on donation, the DoIT encouraged the officers, teachers and staff in the whole sector to donate nearly 3.8 billion VND (162,000 USD) in cash, in messages and materials to the FFC at all levels and schools for Covid-19 pandemic combat.
