The event was co-hosted by Vietnam Chess Federation and Department of Culture and Sports in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province from May 29 till June 1, 2023, drawing more than 800 strong players of 28 delegations across the countries.

The chess players vied for medals at different age groups of Champion, U7, U8, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, rapid chess, blitz chess, super flash chess. This year, two more games of Asean chess and Maruk (Thailand chess). Concluding the tourney, the Organizers awarded 206 sets of medals to outstanding players.

9 members of Bac Giang team joined the championships and won 10 medals (5 golds, 1 silver and 4 bronzes). Two gold medals were awarded to Nguyen Quang Trung at rapid chess and Maruk while Cam Minh Trang, Nguyen Thi Mai Lan and Doan Thi Van Anh bagged three golds at team category of Asian chess in rapid chess, blitz chess, super flash chess.
