Bac Giang wins gold medal at National Mixed Team Badminton Championships

(BGO) – The 2020 National Mixed Team Badminton Championships successfully closed on July 4 after 4 day competition at Soc Son district Competition Hall (Hanoi).

Thanks to the young and uniform athletes, Bac Giang delegation won overall gold medal by a 3-2 defeat to Ho Chi Minh city team in the final match. The silver medal was then awarded to Ho Chi Minh city while Dong Nai delegation won bronze medal.

This year event drew 52 athletes from 6 delegations of Hanoi, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh city and Ministry of Public Security who competed in several categories of men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles and mixed doubles.

The tournament helped the Organization Board assess the athletes’ competition quality and professional training at the provinces, cities and sectors.

The excellent athletes at the event will be further trained to supplement new faces to the national team to join major championships in the region, continent and world; especially select the best athletes for the 21 SEA Games to be held in Vietnam in 2021.
