The event drew more than 400 athletes from 31 Vovinam teams with strong practising movement such as Ho Chi Minh city, Military, Binh Duong, Can Tho, Thanh Hoa...They vied for medals in 26 combat and 22 performance contents.

6 martial artists from Bac Giang province joined the event. 3 male athletes competed at combat categories at various weight groups of 60kg, 64kg and 72kg while 3 female artists attended combat content at 51kg, 57kg and 60kg weight groups.

Concluding the tourney, Bac Giang team won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. The silver winner was Hoang Tuan Anh at the weight group of 64kg. The broze medals were awarded to Hoang Thi Thu Phuong at female’s weight group of 51kg and Nguyen Van Quy at male’s weight group of 72kg.

HCMC team won champion title, followed by Can Tho and Thanh Hoa.

The event opened a playground for the martial artists to practise, compete so as to assess the training and practising process in localities. Moreover, it helped select the best athletes for national Vovinam team to prepare for 31st SEA Games to be held in late 2021.

Bac Giang wins 4 medals at National Youth Vovinam Championships

(BGO) - The 18th National Youth Vovinam Championships 2020 was jointly held from October 16 - 24 at the competition hall in Hau Giang province by Vietnam Vovinam Federation and Department of Culture, Sports and  Tourism in Hau Giang province, drawing nearly 800 athletes in 36 delegations in the provinces, cities and sectors across the nation.
