Bac Giang’s sports affirm position at national arena

Though the provincial badminton athletes did not gain the expected golds at the NSF, the local sports have relied on other factors that are strong enough to create an excellent achievement.

The NSF followers definitely paid special attention to the high result of the chess team. Thanks to the uniform forces with international ranking, typically in women's events, the chess team took the prominent advantages comparing to other delegations that were proved by the convincing victories with 3 golds, 1 silver
Concretely, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao took only one draw and 8 victories out of 9 matches in the rapid chess’s singles. Despite Doan Thi Van Anh was not highly evaluated against other rivals in standard chess’s singles, she unexpectedly defeated several big names to be the champion, including 3 national top chess masters namely Hoang Thi Bao Tram, Le Kieu Thien Kim and Nguyen Thi Thanh An (Ho Chi Minh’s delegation).

Giap Xuan Dinh, Vice Director of Bac Giang provincial Center of Sports Training and Competition in charge of chess shared: “Apart from the expected gold of Vo Thi Kim Phung and Nguyen Thi Mai Hung (blitz chess’s team event), the achievements of these abovementioned girls are the sudden breakthrough”.
In the queen sport, track and field
At the event, Oanh was the only one from Bac Giang’s delegation who gained such excellent results, proving the consecutive professional progress made by the Lang Giang born girl after the gained achievement for 2 years.
12 years ago, wushu martial artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan made up a feat with a gold at the performing content in the 5th NSF. Since then, Bac Giang has dreamed for the glory at the martial art. However, Thanh Loan with the role of a coach guided her students to realize the “gold dream” at this NSF. At the combat’s 56-kilogram weight group, artist Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy successfully conquered a gold by a delicate and strong competition. Similarly, one historic gold was brought back to the provincial sports at the men shuttle kicking’s doubles.
Meanwhile, Vu Thi Trang and Nguyen Thi Sen failed to earn 3 golds to the badminton team at the last NSF of their athlete career. However, they had a completed goodbye with a gold medal at the team event mostly contributed by the Trang and Sen.

At the same game, the talented players have sprouted. Tran Thi Phuong Thuy has gained exceeding professional progress with
9 golds, 3 silvers and 9 bronzes helped the province sports lead the mountainous areas and secure the 18th position among 20 top delegations (rising a pace comparing to the 2014 festival and exceeding the set target).
Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vice Head of Bac Giang’s Sports Delegation to participate in the NSF Nguyen Trong Bac expressed: “The achievement is truly excellent under the fiercer and fiercer competition in the ports sector that proves the correctness of athlete training strategy and leaders’ due attention to the high-performance sports. In the upcoming time, the sector will focus on instructing the competent agencies to review and evaluate the forces for appropriate development orientation. From this success, we believe that Bac Giang’s sports will have much more inspiration to reach a higher level”.
