Currently the national public service portal is providing an online payment service for paying administrative fees, social insurance and health insurance premiums, administrative fines for road traffic offenses, taxes and electricity bill payments.

Six months after its launch, the portal has logged more than 11,000 online payment transactions, peaking in July and August, with an average of about 4,000 transactions worth VND5 billion (US$215,000) per month.

The largest number of transaction payments was seen in relation to health and social insurance premiums with 56%, followed by administrative fees with 23.6% and fines with 18%.

There are still 18 localities and 13 ministries which have yet to complete integrating with the portal’s online payment system, according to Ngo Hai Phan, who is responsible for controlling administrative procedures at the Government Office.

Speaking at a meeting on September 9, Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung asked ministries and agencies to quickly complete the integration process while requesting the units concerned continue working together and fine-tuning the system in order to fulfil the set targets.
