An online seminar introducing the national e-service portal and benefits for enterprises was held by the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council for Administrative Procedure Reform in Ho Chi Minh City on June 12.

Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung said that the e-service portal is an effective solution to digitise administrative procedures so that enterprises and people can carry out administrative procedures at all ministries and localities while implementing related financial obligations.

The portal was officially launched on December 9, 2019, providing eight groups of public services. As many as 512 services are now available on the portal, including 288 services dedicated to enterprises.

The portal has recorded about 42.6 million visits as of June 11. In order to support people and businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the portal has been providing six additional public services since May 12, Dung noted.

The portal is in the process of improvement and it is developing more public services to facilitate people and enterprises.

At the webinar, enterprises appreciated Government’s efforts in administrative reform through the portal while contributing their proposals to complete more policies.

Country Director for the World Bank in Vietnam Ousmane Dione said that the rapid increase of accounts on the portal, especially the number of enterprises registering for public services, is a good signal and provides a means for the Government to receive feedback and build better policies.

He recommended that the Government of Vietnam apply breakthrough technologies, improve service quality, and promote digital transformation through specific models to make the e-service portal more attractive to enterprises, adding that the World Bank is ready to join hands with enterprises in this reform process.
