Facing to the consecutive down ranking in recent year, the PPC on June 16, 2020 held a conference to analyze the component indicators of PCI in 2019 and discuss measures to improve the component indicators of PCI in 2020 to clarify the shortcoming, weakness; define the reason and responsibility of the departments, sectors, localities as well as work out the remedies.

Besides enhancing the inspection, expediting instruction and remedies’ implementation, PPC Chairman decided to found the Steering Board for organizing and implementing the solutions to increase the PCI led by the PPC Chairman as well as the Special Working Group to directly support him in receiving and handling the reflection of business and investors about the difficulties and obstacles during operation.

The provincial leader affirmed on the positive improvement of business and investment environment after the conference on June 13 together with non-synchronous implementation to heighten the PCI.

To recover the shortcoming, the PPC assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to consult, build and issue the Plan No. 222/KH-UBND on August 3, 2020 about enhancing the component indicators of PCI in 2020.

It aims to raise the awareness and action of all departments and levels to realize the policy “Authority accompanies business”; improve the investment and business environment; heighten the PCI for the enterprises’ development and local socio-economy growth.

Accordingly, the province strives to improve 10 grades of PCI in 2020 comparing to last year to secure 30 ranking out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

Concluding the event, PPC Chairman Duong Van Thai ordered the departments, sectors, agencies, People’s Committee in the districts and city to promptly complete and issue the implementation plan and submit to the Department of Planning and Investment before September 15, 2020 to summarize and report to PPC.

The plan should sufficiently cover all assigned tasks and show specific measures to effectively heighten the point for each component indicators.

The PPC Chairman urged the levels and sectors to further accelerate the administrative reform, especially the administrative procedure reform; focus on handling the shortcoming, limitation that cause impact on the business operation; enhance the exchange to enterprise to timely understand and support to ease the difficulties and obstacles during operation.

The communication should be boosted up to call for the coordination and consensus of business and people to accompany the local authority to well implement the task to improve the business and investment environment and PCI.

More effort needed to improve Provincial Competitiveness Index
