Vaccination for children against Covid-19 is scheduled to begin in early November, with priority given to those who have had to stay away from school due to prolonged lockdown, Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said on October 26.

The HCMC Health Department plans to begin vaccinating 780,000 children against Covid-19 starting Wednesday, first in the downtown District 1 and the outlying Cu Chi District.

A total 91 families have traveled from Europe to HCMC to pick up 92 Vietnamese children they had adopted.

Hanoi is planning a vaccination campaign for children aged 12-17, expected to commence in 2022.

HCMC's Thu Duc City administration said it plans to immunize 100,000 people aged between 12 and 17 against Covid-19 starting Oct. 25.
