(BGO) – The Executive Board of the Farmer Support Fund (under
the Farmers’ Association in Bac Giang province) has disbursed 400 million VND (over
17,000 USD) to widely spread the model of “Growing and caring for the Purple
Morinda Officinalis” in 4 hectares that involves 8 households in Thanh Luan
commune (Son Dong district).

This model has been cultivated in a total of 5 hectares in Thanh Luan commune by the provincial Farmers’ Association since 2015.

After 3 year cultivation, the crop yielded about 1.2 – 1.5 tonnes per hectare that enjoyed an average selling price of 150 – 200,000 VND (6.4 – 8.5 USD), per kilogram (6.4 – 8.5 USD), hence bringing back a revenue of about 200 million VND (over 8,500 USD) per hectare.
Acknowledging its high economic value and convenient consumption, the local farmers are expanding the cultivation areas to gradually replace the crops with poor efficiency.
Previously, the Executive Board of the Farmer Support Fund has mobilized 900 million VND (over 38,500 USD) to help 18 households realize the project of “Planting and extensively cultivating Canh orange” in Tru Huu and Tan Lap communes in Luc Ngan district.

(BGO) – The Farmer Association (FA) in the northern province of Bac Giang has established five clubs of “Farmers with Internet”, drawing 75 members from the communes of Yen Lu and Tu Mai, Neo town (Yen Dung); Phuong Son commune and Chu town (Luc Ngan).
