Duc Hanh Sam Nam Nui Danh Cooperative started cultivating Dang Shen in Hau village, Lien Chung commune in January 2022. To date, the Cooperative has cultivated on 3.5 hectares with nearly 40,000 trees. The ginseng seedling was bought from the experienced households in Lien Chung commune and propagated in the Cooperative’s garden.

The planting and caring techniques follow the organic farming procedures guided and cooperated by the Institute of Science Technology and Innovation (ITC).

Currently, the Cooperative is purchasing fresh Dang Shen flowers, leaves and roots for processing and canning the products like instant ginseng tea, ginseng flower tea, ginseng wine, energy drinks, dried ginseng root and leaves. These products have appeared on the market and become popular for consumers.

In coming time, the Cooperative will continue to expand the Dang Shen growing area and develop the distribution network in 13 northern provinces and cities. Besides, they will carry out the project to develop Nui Danh Dang Shen associated with eco-tourism in Hau village, Lien Chung commune on 5 hectares and build an agro- production and processing factory in Hong Thai commune, Viet Yen district.

The Inspection Delegation of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council highly evaluated the Cooperative’s production linkage model involving the state, scientists, businesses and farmers. The Cooperative has promoted advantages of the locality to develop the unique product gaining high economic efficiency.

Besides, the delegates stressed this is a precious local product, thus the Cooperative needs to speed up expansion of the production area, diversify ginseng products and pay attention to promotional activities and market expansion for export.

They added, the Cooperative needs to open ginseng gardens for tourists to experience especially in harvest seasons in order to develop eco-tourism. In addition, the locality was urged to pay more attention to traffic infrastructure to attract tourists to the Nui Danh Dang Shen cultivation area

Bac Giang farmers earn high income from flower of local ginseng
