VCFA was established on 21 July 1975 as a member of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO). After 45 years, VCFA has 55 provincial-level member associations and branches.

VCFA has organized many meaningful cooperative activities in the fields of economics, culture, social affairs and human resources training including active contributions from the associations in the localities having no borders with Cambodia and VCFA’s subsidiaries.

Speaking the event, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Bac Giang province Le Thi Thu Hong highly appreciated contributions of the provincial Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association and briefed on the socio-economic situation of the province.

She expected VCFA and the provincial Union of Friendship Organizations to continue connecting Bac Giang with foreign investors, enterprises and partners in cultural exchange, cooperation and trade promotion to contribute to socio-economic development of the province while bettering people-to-people relations.

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, VUFO’s Chairwoman expressed her delight at the achievements gained by the Party Committee, government and people of Bac Giang province over the past years. Although Bac Giang has no borders with foreign countries, the province has well implemented friendship activities especially people-to-people relations.

She stressed, the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Associations at all levels have carried out practical activities contributing to nurturing the friendship between the 2 countries.

In order to enhance efficiency of people-to-people relations in coming time, she urged VCFA to continue reinforcing its organization and developing members. Besides, they need to renew and diversify form and method of operation, take initiative to mobilize resources for effective implementation of the programmes, establish the friendship network in Cambodia to enhance exchange and build annual action plan based on situation of the locality.

VCFA gives an emulation flag to the Vietnam- Cambodia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province.

On this occasion, VUFO presented certificate of merit to the outstanding collectives and individuals in the patriotic emulation movement for the period from 2015 to 2020 and active contributions in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. Besides, VCFA gave an emulation flag to the Vietnam- Cambodia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province for the outstanding achievements in construction and development of the association.

Previously, VCFA and the Vietnam- Cambodia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province jointly held a gift-giving programme at Tran Nguyen Han pre-school, Bac Giang city.
