Updated: 11:29, 09/05/2023
(BGO) – Over the past 10 years, Tinh Thuong One member Limited Liability Microfinance Institution’s branch in Bac Giang (TYM Bac Giang) has taken many meaningful and practical activities to help poor women improve their lives.

Every year, TYM Bac Giang supports thousands of members with preferential loans. In 2022, more than 2,000 members received capital support with a total amount of more than 83 billion VND (35 million USD). Of which, 40% was invested in livestock farming, 34% in food business and small trade, and the rest in other projects. Thanks to preferential capital, many members have developed their family economy, got themselves out of poverty sustainably, and improved their quality of life.

Since she joined TYM in June 2020, she has obtained preferential loans four times with a total value of VND150 million (6,400 USD). Having money, she bought cows and chickens, and expanded crop cultivation area. After many efforts, in 2022, Nam's family escaped poverty.

Along with lending and deposit mobilization activities, TYM Bac Giang has also organized many social security activities, supported localities in building new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas, provided free health checks, and awarded scholarships to children of poor members.

TYM Bac Giang currently has more than 3,600 members. Total outstanding loans of the branch by the end of March were valued at 52.33 billion VND (2.23 million USD), with repayment rate reaching 100%. The savings balance of female members/customers was over 26.5 billion VND (1.13 million USD). In addition, TYM has also organized many activities to support female members in need and provide health check-ups for members.

In the first quarter of 2023, the branch provided 15 million VND for the health station of Hiep Hoa district’s Minh Chau commune to buy equipment for traditional medicine treatment; and 160 million VND for the construction of four "Shelter of love" houses for poor members and women in the commune.

Thanks to the companionship of TYM Bac Giang and authorities, departments and mass organization in Minh Duc commune, Viet Yen district, work on the new house of Nguyen Thi Hoai's family in Hau village kicked off in late 2022 amid the joy of her family and neighbors. Hoai is a female member with extremely difficult circumstance.

TYM Vietnam Fund was established with the aim of improving the quality of life of poor women through credit and savings support, creating opportunities for women to participate in socio-economic activities, thus contributing to raising their position. After more than 30 years of operation, the organization has helped hundreds of thousands of women gain access to basic financial services.

TYM has operated in Bac Giang since 2014 with many meaningful and practical activities. TYM Bac Giang has promoted communications and persuaded members and women to participate in these activities. From a few dozens of members in Lang Giang district in the early days of operation, the branch has 3,600 now female members. The organization's coverage has expanded to 34 communes, wards and townships in Bac Giang city and Lang Giang, Viet Yen, and Hiep Hoa districts.

Director of TYM Bac Giang Le Huu That said: “In order to improve the quality of its activities, in the second quarter of this year, the branch will develop members in four available locations and provide training for nearly 100 new members admitted in the first quarter. Besides, it will conduct surveys and studies to evaluate and take reasonable ways to deploy activities to meet the aspirations of members”.
