This shot by Vietnamese photographer Duy Sinh won first place in the "People and Daily Life" category. It depicts a fisherman casting a net in Phu Yen, a coastal province in south-central Vietnam where most residents subsist on fishing.

Vietnamese photographer Thien Nguyen won second place in the "People and Daily Life" category for his "Anchovy Harvest" shot. Anchovies are considered a specialty along the central coast and are used to produce the quintessential Vietnamese condiment – fish sauce. For many years, the small Hon Yen Islet in Phu Yen has attracted young travelers and photographers with its pristine beauty and carpets of coral reefs, exposed during low tide.

Thien Nguyen also won fourth place in the "Nature" category for his shot of terraced rice fields in Mu Cang Chai District in northern Yen Bai Province. Mu Cang Chai is around seven hours' drive to the northwest of Hanoi. It sits at 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) above sea level at the foot of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. The H’mong ethnic minority started carving rice terraces into the mountain range centuries ago and continue to cultivate the crop today.

Local photographer Khanh Phan won third place in the "People and Daily Life" category for capturing a group of women in conical hats working on a water-chestnut field in Thang Binh District, central Quang Nam Province.

With his shot taken in Hanoi, Indian lecturer Prabu Mohan won first place in the "World in Lockdown " category. He captured the image of an apartment building in Hanoi's Hoang Mai District festooned in red flags last March in solidarity with Vietnam’s frontline Covid-19 fight. Thousands of Vietnamese doctors and medics have been working day and night to combat the pandemic.
