Industrial parks lure labours
Director of provincial Job Service Center (Center) Nguyen Van Hue said the Center launched 76 fixed and mobile job transaction sessions in 2021, including seven online ones. After the labours passed the interview, the companies cooperated with the Center to support them to conduct Covid-19 test and pick up labours in other provincies and cities to work in Bac Giang. The Center consulted and introduced jobs to more than 18,400 labours.
Fuhong Precision Component Company Limited under Hon Hai Technology Group is now demanding to employ over 1,000 labours. “Since the pandemic outbreak, we have allowed online Curriculum Vitae. By making phone call or video chatting to confirm the applicants, the Employment Department will verify the document to arrange online interview, note the suitable information to the position, give a date to take sample for Covid-19 test to ensure safety to welcome the case to work at factory,” shared Pham Van Son, Vice Head of Employment Department.
In August 2021, nearly 400 companies in the provincial IPs started year end production plan, so they wished to employ dozen thousands of labours. Meanwhile, over 15,000 labours working far from home returned Bac Giang due to the impact of Covid-19.
Taking this chance, the Center sent Correspondence to request the Division of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs in the districts and city to strictly cooperate with localities to propagandize, supply employment information and instruct labours to register their demand.
So far, more than 5,000 cases returning from key industrial areas of Ho Chi Minh city, Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces have found suitable jobs in the province.
In late May 2021, when Covid-19 pandemic out broke in the IPs, the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) decided to temporarily halt the operation of four IPs. At that time, more than 150,000 labours suspended working.
When the disease was contained, local authority approved for opening the IP again. However, many companies faced a lot of difficulties due to labour shortage. To keep the old workers and lure new ones, the province established working groups to assist enterprises to recover the production at the complicated disease period.
Particularly, the local authority prioritized to vaccinate all workers at IPs and localities in the province. The PPC issued Directive No.14/CT-UBND and many relevant documents about Covid-19 prevention and control at the IPs which specified condition for business to resume operation such as establishment of Covid-19 safe team, periodically organization of Covid-19 test to labours…
The Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and People’s Committee in the districts and city enhanced to popularize about demand for labour recruitment of businesses; sum up the job finding demand to send to the Center on every Thursday.
The statistic from the IP Management Board proved that to date 385 companies in the IP have operated with more than 192,000 labours, up 20 firms year on year and over 42,000 labours comparing to the period before the disease outbreak.
Besides the expanded companies, several businesses registered to pour new investment so there is huge employment demand of about 27,000 people (including nearly 26,000 untrained labours).
Some businesses with big employment demand are Luxshare ICT Vietnam Company (10,500 people), Hon Hai Technology Group (4,300 people), Bac Giang LGG Garment Corporation Joint Stock Company (2,000 people)…
The attraction to labour in the IP has affirmed for the business recovery and development, hence positively contributing to the provincial socio-economic growth.
