Bac Giang connects job demand and supply for labours returning home
Wishing for a stable job
Before the pandemic outbreak, Le Van Manh (born in 1997) in Nghia Phuong commune (Luc Nam district) earned stable income of over nine million VND (400 USD) per month as a leather worker in Ho Chi Minh city together with overtime job in restaurant at the evening for more than three years. Monthly he can save half of the income to send home for his parent.

“In the past, there was no company employing labour in my hometown so I must go far. But it is different now. Many firms present in the village and hamlet to recruit workers. I decided to stay home to find suitable job”.
Since April 2021, the province has welcomed more than 17,500 workers back home from other localities due to impacts of Covid-19 pandemic, including nearly 15,000 people within working age. The disease makes their life miserable so they all wish for stable job in home land.
Further prioritizing to support pandemic hit labours back home
According to Hoang Van Thang, Head of the Division of Labour and Job under the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA), after reviewing the number of labours returning from pandemic struck localities, the Division consulted the provincial People’s Committee to direct the departments, sectors, agencies and localities to cooperate with the Labour sector to promptly grasp the situation, summarize the detail of labour in term of profession, career, demand for job.
As forecast, from now till this year end, the provincial companies need to recruit about 27,000 labours, including nearly 26,000 untrained labours. Some enterprises with big employment demand are Luxshare ICT Vietnam Company Limited (10,500 people); Hon Hai Technology Group (4,300 people); Bac Giang LGG Garment Corporation Joint Stock Company (2,000 people); Lens Technology Vietnam Company Limited (1,200 people). |
Then the competent agencies should timely propose solution to support them to change the job, introduce new position, facilitate in preferential capital loan to help them quickly stabilize the life.
The province now has more than 7,100 operating companies which create jobs to about 305,000 labours (including 192,000 people in the industrial parks). Total labour increased 40,000 worker more than the period before the disease outbreak.
Director of provincial Job Service Center (Center) Nguyen Van Hue said the Center is accelerating to connect the labour demand and supply with priority taken to create job to labours returning home from pandemic hit localities.
In late August, right after receiving the DoLISA’s direction, the Center issued Correspondence to urge the Division of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs in the districts and city to strictly collaborate in organizing communication, providing businesses’ employment information and guiding labours to register.
The Center applies information technology to connect the job such as updating the employment demand on Job Information Portal and social network; maintaining Zalo group “Job assistance – Covid-19”; launching online or offline job transaction sessions under special subject to meet the certain demand of companies and labours.
As the result, the Center has supported nearly 3,000 labours returning hometown from pandemic areas to get new job, mostly in the districts of Luc Nam, Yen The, Hiep Hoa and Viet Yen.
Vice Director of DoLISA Tran Van Ha said the Department will further consult the provincial People’s Committee to build suitable policies in handling job issue, prioritize to assist labours back home from pandemic region so as to help them soon stabilize the life while instructing the Center to forecast and effectively connect the supply and demand.
At the same time, the DoLISA will cooperate with sectors and localities to enhance vocational training quality in attachment with demand of enterprises, create job with stable income for local people.
