LDSC executes many projects and provides non-project aid to Bac Giang

(BGO) – Since 2010, the US-based Latter- Day Saint Charities (LDSC) has operated in the northern province of Bac Giang and executed many projects as well as provided non-project aids worth billions of VND. 

In Hanoi, the working delegation from the Bac Giang provincial Department of Foreign Affair (DoFA) has recently worked with LDSC about receiving and implementing the project to build adequate latrines at Dong Lo junior high school in Hiep Hoa district and Dong Viet junior high school in Yen Dung district that totally costs about 36,000 USD.

LDSC commences the project of “Clean water and environmental sanitation to 13 schools in Hiep Hoa district” in 2016.

LDSC is a US non-governmental organization (NGO) operating in the fields of community development, emergency relief assistance in times of natural disasters and English training that are suitable to Bac Giang’s priority orientation to call for the NGO aid. Steven Holt, Chief Representative of LDSC to Vietnam spoke highly of DoFA’s support during the project implementation.

Since 2010, LDSC has operated in Bac Giang province and conducted several projects as well as provided non-project aids, typically “Improving the water system at Bac Giang Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital” with a cost of over 259 million VND (over 11,100 USD); “Revamping the latrine system at Bac Giang Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital” with an expense of over 18,400 USD; “Building the latrines to 10 schools in Tan Yen district” with a cost of 110,300 USD; presenting 130 wheelchairs to Bac Giang Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital and 110 wheelchairs to the disabled people living in difficult circumstances.

Via VietHealth (domestic NGO), LDSC executed the project to build the latrines to 13 primary and junior high schools in Hiep Hoa district with a total cost of 2.6 billion VND (over 112,300 USD), presented 140 wheelchairs and 20 walkers for disabled people.

As scheduled, the latrine construction project in Dong Lo and Dong Viet junior high schools will be started in this April.
