Luc Nam custard apple yields over 14,000 tonnes with high selling price

(BGO) – According to the Division of Agriculture and Rural Development in Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province, the district expects to harvest more than 14,000 tonnes of custard apples from total cultivation area of 1,715 ha.

In spite of the unfavourable weather condition causing bad impact on other fruits’ productivity, the custard apples yield the same quantity as last year.

The large cultivation areas include Huyen Son, Dong Phu, Nghia Phuong and Dong Hung communes. The results are made thanks to activeness of the farmers in artificial pollination technique and flowering time adjustment that help increase its productivity.

Now, it is harvest time for the custard apple. The tradesmen in Bac Giang city, Hai Duong and Bac Ninh provinces have visited the orchard to buy the fruits. The first class custard apples are sold at high price of 45 – 50,000 VND (1.93 – 2.14 USD) per kilogram early this season.
