Accordingly, Saigon Co.op will bring Luc Ngan lychee into nearly 700 retail stores with the higher volume (increased by 25 percent) compared to the same period of last year. All of the lychee fruits will be sold in Saigon Co.op distribution system including Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Cheers and the online store of HTV Co.op.

According to Pham Trung Kien, Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op, Saigon Co.op with a number of modern retail models has become an effective bridge to bring Vietnamese commodities and local agricultural produce and specialties to consumers nationwide particularly southern consumers.

Thus, lychee consumption promotion program into the distribution system of Saigon Co.op is one of the activities affirming the strategy towards sustainable development in cooperation with the provinces and cities to develop Vietnamese agricultural produce following the global trend.

In particular, it is aimed to build up the Vietnam’s agriculture ensuring the criteria of food safety, organic products and international certification. Tran Quang Tan added, Bac Giang lychee products this year were evaluated with higher quality than previous years. This time, the lychee market is booming in Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province in which lychee is transported and distributed to the entire country and export markets.

(BGO) – It has come to the harvest season for the early ripen lychee in the key cultivation areas in the districts of Tan Yen, Luc Ngan, Luc Nam, Lang Giang…in the northern province of Bac Giang for nearly one week. The fruits enjoy good consumption and high selling price, particularly VietGAP lychee are sold at minimum prize of 35,000 VND (1.5 USD) per kilogram.
