National Women's Dance and Sports Competition opens in Bac Giang

(BGO) – The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) joined hands with the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee on June 21 to open National Women’s Dance and Sports Competition in 2023 themed “Healthy and beautiful Vietnamese women”. 

The event was attended by Member of the Central Party Committee, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Member of the Central Party Committee and Chairwoman of Vietnam Women’s Union Ha Thi Nga; Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council Le Thi Thu Hong and other provincial leaders.

Addressing the opening ceremony, VWU Chairwoman Ha Thi Nga affirmed that health is the most precious asset of every person and an invaluable asset of every country. For the past tenures, the VWU has regularly propagated, mobilized and developed the mass sport movement throughout the system.

The National Women's Dance and Sports Competition 2023 was launched in Bac Giang province which proved for the movement development.

At the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, VWU Chairwoman Ha Thi Nga and Vice Secretary Le Thi Thu Hong handed over scholarships to 50 impoverished students.

The official competition contents took place in June 22 – 23 with the participation of nearly one thousand women officials and members from 51 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide.

They vied for medals at three contents of dancing, badminton and soft volleyball. 48 members of Bac Giang delegation competed at three contents.

The badminton competition was held at the provincial Gymnasium, soft volleyball at provincial Training and Competition Hall in Nghia Long street of Tran Phu ward (Bac Giang city) and dancing at the provincial Conventional Hall in February 3 Square.
