Nearly 3,000 Bac Giang youths eagerly leave home to join army
From the early morning, the central areas of the districts and Bac Giang city were full of flowers and the fluttering red flags with yellow star. The new recruits wearing new military uniforms excitedly attended the soldier handover ceremonies together with their family members and friends. The pride of being a Vietnam People's Army soldier was shining in the eyes and faces of the boys aged from 18 to 20.

In Bac Giang city, Bui Van Hai, member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial Military Command; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Central Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Duong Dinh Thong, Political Commissar of Military Region 1; and representatives of the provincial Military Command, units that receive the newly recruited soldiers, and local Party Committee and authorities were present early to encourage and congratulate 149 young men on their enlistment in army units and 18 others on joining the people's police force.
This year, the city has 28 young people volunteering to join the army. Fifteen have graduated from universities, colleges and intermediate schools while 17 others have already attended classes to prepare for their Party admission.

In the atmosphere of the troop handover festival, Duong Van Thai, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and Chairman of the provincial Military Service Council, attended a ceremony in Yen Dung district.
Reportedly, the selection of enlisted citizens in the district has been carried out in an open, democratic and lawful manner, ensuring enough high-quality soldiers. 223 rookies all have political virtue, good education levels and good health, gathering enough conditions to join the army to defend the Fatherland.
In Viet Yen district, Le Thi Thu Hong, Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of the National Assembly deputy delegation of the province, was glad to see that 240 new recruits were happy and excited because they were about to study and train in a new environment.

Assigning tasks to the rookies, Nguyen Van Dung, Chairman of the district People's Committee, said he believes that promoting the homeland’s tradition, the elite young people will strive to study, train and fulfill the assigned tasks well, deserving of the love and expectations of the army, homeland, family and relatives.
Joining the jubilant and solemn atmosphere of the whole province, the districts of Lang Giang, Tan Yen, Luc Nam, Hiep Hoa and Yen The also held ceremonies to hand over and receive newly recruited soldiers.
In Luc Nam district, on behalf of 385 new recruits, Nguyen Duy Tien (born in 2001) in Dan Hoi commune expressed his honor and pride when becoming a soldier of the Vietnam People's Army. Tien promised to study and train well to mature in terms of health, physical strength, perception, and political awareness, worthy of the trust of his homeland and family.

Also in the morning, the two mountainous districts of Luc Ngan and Son Dong also completed all the recruitment targets. Particularly in Son Dong district, 70 percent of new recruits are ethnic minorities. Many rookies expressed their desire to work in the army for a long time.
According to the evaluation of the provincial Military Service Council, this year the quality of rookies increased significantly.
