One individual from Bac Giang honoured as national outstanding intellectual in science and technology

(BGO)- Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) has held a ceremony to honour 106 outstanding intellectuals in the field of science and technology in 2022. Among the 106 honoured intellectuals this time, there are 50 people from local unions, 40 from national agencies of industries, 68 people with academic titles, degrees from associate professor, doctorate or higher and 2 labour heroes.

One individual from Bac Giang province honoured this time is Doctor Le Van Duong, Director of the Sub-department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine (under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development).

Since 2010, as a leader of ` the Sub-department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine, Le Van Duong has taken initiative and promoted creativity to fulfill all assigned duties, particularly building and implementing the plans for preventing and controlling animal diseases, vaccination, hygiene and disinfection.

He has directly participated in 4 scientific and technological theses, projects and duties including separating and defining pathogenic role of Escherichia coli (E.coli) causing diarrhea in pig in some districts and preventive and treatment methods (2010-2011), researching some epidemiological features and preventive measures of blue ear disease in pigs in the province (2011-2012), building linkage chain model on production and consumption of safe pork in Tan Yen district (2016-2018) and researching African Swine Fever in Bac Giang province and seeking preventive measures (2021-2022). 2 out of the 4 mentioned theses have been applied in practice.
