Orange and pomelo output yields about 80,000 tonnes

(BGO) -  According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, this year the citrus fruit productivity (orange and pomelo) is estimated at 80,000 tonnes in Bac Giang province that is equal to last year figure.

Particularly, 5,200 ha of orange will yield about 46,000 tonnes of fruits while pomelo is estimated at 35 – 40,000 tonnes, which can be harvested from now on till February 2022. Currently, local farmers are harvesting green skin pomelo with average selling price of 25 – 30,000 VND per kg (the same as that of last year).

Among 11,300 ha of citrus fruit cultivation area, 7,744 ha is grown in line with safe orientation and 275 ha is granted with VietGAP certificate.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic, this year, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development early instructed localities to prepare programmes to consume orange and pomelo; actively conduct trade promotion activities via retail channels, online sale and convinient stores.

As schedule, about 20 percent of total productivity will be consumed in the province and the remaining quantity will be sold to other provinces, mostly fresh fruits.

(BGO) - This year, the fair showcasing orange, grapefruit and typical products of Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) is held by the district People's Committee from November 20 to 22 with many new points to promote trade connection and the potential for developing a key fruit tree area as well as stimulate tourism demand. Chairman of the district People's Committee La Van Nam, head of the fair’s Organizing Committee, granted an interview to Bac Giang Newspaper on this event.
Visiting land of orange and pomelo Luc Ngan
(BGO) – Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) has more than 28,000 ha of fruit tree cultivation, including over 4,140 ha of orange, more than 2,250 ha of pomelo and remaining area of lychee and other fruits. It is now harvest season of orange and pomelo in Luc Ngan with estimated output of 60 – 70,000 tonnes of fruits, up 7-10,000 tonnes comparing to last year figure. Thanks to fruit cultivation, the local farmers annually earn 3 – 4 trillion VND (129 – 172 million USD).

(BGO) – Though it is nearly 10 days to come Luc Ngan fair for orange, pomelo and signature products in 2020, many visitors and travel agencies have come to Luc Ngan district in the northern province of Bac Giang to enjoy the local landscape and get the actual experience.
