Pacific Partnership 2019 funds school building in Phu Yen

Work started on the construction of three classrooms in Hoa My Tay primary school, Tay Hoa district of the south-central province of Phu Yen on May 16 , in the framework of the Pacific Partnership 2019 programme (PP19). 

A groundbreaking ceremony was attended by US Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink, commander of PP19 Mission Captain Randy Vann Rossum, and representatives from local authorities and relevant agencies.

Each classroom covers an area between 180 sq.m - 200sq.m. They are not only for learning, but also provide accommodation for about 150 people in case of natural disasters.

The programme also helps improve, repair and upgrade six other classrooms of the school.

The same day’s morning, many activities such as workshops focusing on in-depth discussion of natural disaster response, especially those can cause a large number of casualties; and on medical profession.

PP19 Mission is organised in Phu Yen from May 6-17 with a wide range of activities, including health check-ups for locals and community exchange.

This is an opportunity for Phu Yen province to join Vietnam and regional nations’ efforts in bettering their capacity of disaster response. It will help the locality consolidate relations between Vietnam and its partners around the world.

The pacific partnership programme, promoted by the US Navy in 2004, aims to improve capacity in response to natural disasters in the Indo-Pacific region.

English competition among high-quality junior high schools in Bac Giang
(BGO) - An English exchange program took place at Le Quy Don junior high school in Bac Giang city on 22 March among the key and high-quality junior high schools of Voi town in Lang Giang district, Doi Ngo town in Luc Nam district, Neo town in Yen Dung district, Than Nhan Trung in Viet Yen district and Le Quy Don junior high school.

(BGO) – For recent two years, several schools in the northern province of Bac Giang have innovated the physical activities to replace the tedious feeling for the monotonous actions and inspire the students.
 
Building friendship school from Japanese aid
(BGO) - With the aid from the Asia Education and Friendship Association (AEFA), more than 48,000 USD has been used to build infrastructure facilities at Ngoc Tan, a location of the Ngoc Son Primary School (Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province).

(BGO) - Despite being young, in recent years, many students in schools in Bac Giang province have had useful scientific initiatives, thus spreading the scientific research movement in school. 
 
Programme helps ensure clean drinking water for schools
As many as 152 water filters have been presented to 49 schools in Nui Thanh district, the central province of Quang Nam, under a programme that provides clean drinking water for schools.
