Paying gratitude to contributors to nation

Updated: 20:35, 27/07/2020
(BGO) – On the days of historic July - the month of "Gratitude", localities across Bac Giang province have organized many activities to take care of people who rendered services to the nation. Each gift expresses the gratitude of the next generations to those who sacrificed to protect national independence.

Practical deeds

These days, the house of Tran Thi Tan (born in 1952), the wife of martyr Ngo Quang Tho in Tan Son 2 village, Yen Lu commune (Yen Dung district), always welcomes guests. In her young age, shortly after the wedding, her husband enlisted in the army. He visited his family several times and then died.

Thanks to the support of the authorities, mass organisations, benefactors and neighbors, Tan and her daughter now have a new spacious and clean house.

Having just recovered from illness, Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Thoi (born in 1924) in Han village, Huong Gian commune (Yen Dung district) smiled happily to welcome the officials of the provincial Women's Union and its Yen Dung chapter. Thoi’s husband - martyr Ha Van Can and her only son - martyr Ha Van Thiet died in the two resistance wars against French colonialists and US imperialists.

Over the past years, the provincial Women's Union has cooperated with donors to organize many activities to take care of contributors to the nation and policy beneficiary families, especially Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and relatives of martyrs. Since 2018, the women’s unions at all levels in the province have mobilized nearly 4,000 gifts for families of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers.

To date, 1,368 mothers have been awarded the "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" title, of them 33 are alive. More than 5,100 martyr relatives are enjoying allowances.
