Nguyen Van Dang, Deputy Director of Huong Son Clean Pineapple Cooperative said the cooperative grows more than 160 hectares of pineapples, 70 hectares of which can be harvested.

Currently, many traders from inside and outside the province come to buy the products with price ranging from 7-10,000VND/kg (depending on type and time). This price is 1,500 VND per kg higher than the same period in 2023.

"The pineapple yields about 40 tonnes per ha and members of the cooperative will harvest the fruits until the end of June. On average, 1 hectare of pineapple can bring revenue of about 320 million VND (13,500 USD) or benefit of about 200 million VND after deducting the production cost," Dang said.

The pineapple prices increased because at the beginning of the season, harvest output is not much to meet large demand.

The products of Huong Son Clean Pineapple Cooperative are rated with title of One Commune One Product (OCOP) and consumed in many provinces and cities nationwide.

In recent years, the Cooperative has not only got supported in road construction, but also benefited from a number of preferential policies on fertilizers and training on cultivation method in line with VietGAP standards.
