PM encourages youths to promote voluntary role in national matters

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on March 20 called on young people to continue promoting their voluntary role in the implementation of the country’s common tasks involving labour issues, economic development, cultural preservation, political stability, and defence-security reinforcement.

He made the statement while working with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee in Hanoi on the occasion of the Youth Month 2019.

The PM asked youth union organisations to focus on building a generation of young people with sufficient capabilities, qualifications, skills, and spirit to meet the requirements of nation-building and defence in the context of international integration.

Besides reforming activities to attract more youngsters to the revolutionary movements, especially in disadvantaged areas, the PM suggested arousing aspirations and passion for science and technology among young people.

He ordered the encouragement of young people’s interests by creating more favourable conditions for them to access learning opportunities and develop their working skills.

The Government leader directed local authorities at all levels to pay special attention to job generation and career guidance as well as culture, art, sports, and entertainment activities for youngsters.

He agreed with the committee’s proposal of building a startup centre for youths via social investment while encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship among young people.

Contest launched to encourage youth involvement in environmental protection
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union launched a photo contest entitled ‘Challenge For Change’ on March 18, targeting youth union members and youngsters nationwide with a first prize worth up to VND10 million.
 
Vietnamese, Cambodian provinces enhance youth’s cooperation

Communal youth union leader Tran Danh Hung honored to receive Ly Tu Trong Prize
(BGO) – Celebrating the 88th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) on March 26 (1931-2019), the HCYU Central Committee has just awarded the Ly Tu Trong Prize in 2019 to 72 outstanding youth union officials and members nationwide. Tran Danh Hung (born in 1984), Secretary of the youth union of Xuan Phu commune (Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province) was honored to receive this award. The honor ceremony is scheduled for March 24 in Ha Tinh province.
 
Vietnam, EPGA work to promote golf movement among youths
The Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) and Els Performance Golf Academy (EPGA) - the first international golf academy in Vietnam, on March 11 signed a cooperation agreement towards promoting golf movements among young people in Vietnam.
