Timely encouragement and support

Many meaningful activities have been launched by the grassroots trade union at the enterprises for the labors. Typically in Tan Yen district, the district Labor Federation instructed each union at the grassroots level to have at least one responding activity.

Officers at the provincial Labor Federation spread the leaflets to popularise the law to the workers at Sung Woo Vina Company Limited (Dinh Tram Industrial Park).

To date, 28 trade unions at the enterprises with nearly 9,000 workers have run various activities of art and sport exchanges; honoring the excellent labor in emulative movements of “Skilled worker”, “Creative worker”; popularising legal knowledge; providing free health examination and medicine.

“We urged the trade union officers to review and make a list of poor workers, those suffering from serious illness, work accident or living in difficult circumstances to prioritise in receiving the support,” said Chairman of the district Labor Federation Nguyen Thanh Phuong.

Besides, several businesses acknowledged and honored the labors’ contributions. As one of 168 outstanding unionists honored at the Worker Festival at Viet Pan Pacific Company Limited (Bac Giang city) recently held by the grass roots trade union, Nguyen Thi Binh delightedly shared: “Though the award is small in the value, it encourages and stimulates the labor to take greater effort in production and further attach to the firms”.

Strong foundation for the labor

According to Ngo Bien Cuong, Vice Permanent Chairman of the provincial Labor Federation said some of the key tasks to implement in 2019 are to renovate the operational method toward the grass roots levels, pay attention to the the practical benefit to the unionists.

Hence, the trade union organization should affirm its position to create a firm foundation and attract more labors to participate in the union.

To make a highlight in the Worker Month, the provincial Labor Federation instructed each grassroots trade union in the enterprise to organize at least one activity or practical work to care for the material and spiritual life for the trade unionists and labors.

Representatives of Tan Yen district Labor Federation and grassroots trade union present the support amount to build the “Trade union cosy house” to Vo Thi Thuy Huong, worker at Intermax Vietnam Company Limited.

In Bac Giang city, the municipal Labor Federation selected to honor the members with many achievements in the emulative movements while the Labor Federation in Yen Dung district held the cultural festival and art and sport exchange programmes.

Meanwhile, the Labor Federation in Lang Giang and Luc Nam districts popularised the law and provided free reproduction health examination to the unionists.

At the provincial industrial parks with the biggest number of members in the province, the trade union organization focused on supervising the implementation of legal policy on labor such as social insurance payment, assurance of labor safety and food quality in the canteen.

Chairman of the Trade Union in the provincial Industrial Parks Ngo Duc Thang shared: “We instructed the officers at the grassroots trade unions to regularly seize the situation to timely report on any arising issue and obstacle from the labors, especially when their rights are not satisfied; hence proposing the authority to handle so as to gain the labors’ belief in the trade union”.

The trade unions of all levels should focus on calling for increasing the establishment rate of grass roots trade union in the enterprises and creating opportunities for the trade union to develop its role.

It is necessary to boost up the emulative movement of good and creative labors; timely honor the worker with invention of technical innovation that is widely spread in the production; reinforce the collaboration with the parties and enterprises to ink the welfare programme for the trade unionists so as to further support the labor when using the products, service to improve the quality of workers’ living and create their relationship with the trade union.
