President encourages national football team

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has sent flowers and sent a letter of encouragement to the Vietnamese men’s football team for their efforts in their recent match with hosts Saudi Arabia, in the final round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

The President wished the whole team would continue to maintain maximum concentration in their upcoming matches, determined for positive results, specifically in the match against Australian at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi at 7 pm on September 7.

The whole team was surprised and touched when they received the encouragement and flower basket from President Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Coach Park Hang-seo and the whole team thanked the President.

The Vietnamese team got off to a good start in Thursday night’s match with a goal in the third minute from Quang Hai. Unfortunately, the difficulties of only playing with 10 men from the 54th minute caused the Vietnamese team to concede defeat, losing 1-3 against the home team.

Although the result was not favorable, the performance was full of effort and determination, the Vietnam's football fans shared their joy and encouraged their team, and believe that the whole team will make a great effort to garner favorable results in the upcoming matches.
