The PPC evaluated the positive changes on the provincial socio-economy created in January with the industrial production value reaching nearly 14.5 trillion VND (625.5 million USD), accounting for 128.4 percent against the same period in 2018. The sectors with high results included garment and textile, electronic products and metal among others.

Regarding the farming cultivation, the localities are promptly harvesting the winter crops and preparing for the spring summer season. The citrus trees enjoyed bumper crops with high retail price and smooth consumption, hence much benefiting the growers. The commodity market is stable and ensures to sufficiently supply the goods for the upcoming Lunar New Year 2019.

However, the unusual weather with extreme cold caused severe impact on agricultural production and farmers’ life. Some industrial productions encountered difficulties; the budget collection was lower; traffic accident was more complicated with the increased number of the fatal and injured cases comparing to the same period.

The provincial leader Nguyen Van Linh considered that the PPC has strictly instructed to implement the resolutions on socio-economic development issued by the Government, provincial Party Committee and People’s Council since the first days of the new year. The achieved results helped create the momentum to well fulfill the yearly task.

For the upcoming time, the sectors and localities should focus on guiding the agricultural production within the season frame, well preparing the materials, varieties, fertilizers, watering and measures to prevent the diseases on the castle and poultry while strictly controlling the food hygiene and safety, he said.

PPC Chairman Nguyen Van Linh noted that the localities should well organize the activities to welcome the Tet holiday under the motto of “unity, happy, safety and save”; firmly seize the living condition of the residents, especially caring for the poor, policy beneficiary families, people living in special difficult circumstances and ethnic people.
